From insurance instability to data privacy dilemmas, CSA members gathered in July to unpack the complex realities of running carsharing programs today. Operators shared challenges with rising deductibles, grant cancellations, and the costs of electrification—alongside ideas for collective solutions like captive insurance and monthly peer support. Through it all, the spirit of collaboration remained strong.

April 2025: Carshare Operator Chat Session
From rising tariffs to charging headaches, CSA members came together to share the real-world challenges impacting carsharing today. Operators reported EV affordability issues due to grant cuts and tariffs, major delays in charging infrastructure, and even rodent damage to idle vehicles. Despite the setbacks, members exchanged practical advice and remained committed to serving underserved communities with equitable, reliable shared mobility.
