City of Aspen becomes a CSA member

January 17, 2013

The City of Aspen is the first municipal government become a member of the CarSharing Association. The city-owned fleet of vehicles is made available to residents for hourly rentals using a model similar to other non-profit and for-profit carshares in the US.  We’re delighted the City of Aspen has signed onto the CSA’s code of ethics and we expect that they’ll provide social and environmental benefits similar to those we’ve measured in other communities that have adopted carsharing systems.  See http://www.cartogo.com/

The civic government in Park City, Utah is also working in partnership with UhaulCarShare to deliver carsharing services.  The new carsharing program complements existing transportation alternatives in Park City such as its no-fare bus system and growing network of bikeable and walkable paths and trails.
